ABOUT
As a UX designer, I am passionately committed to researching, testing, and resolving usability challenges within the healthcare sector. My mission is to bridge the divide between technology and healthcare, placing usability at the forefront of system design.
Drawing from diverse experiences in theatre, fashion, and media, I bring a unique perspective to my design approach, coupled with effective communication skills and an insatiable curiosity for understanding human cognition and decision-making processes. Whether crafting props, designing sets, or developing software, my focus remains on collaborating with users to create solutions that resonate with people on a meaningful level.
BACKGROUND
I am a UX Designer with a diverse background that spans roles as a prop maker, scenic artist, and stage builder. My journey includes graduating as a make-up artist and carpenter, studying computer science, and immersing myself in the field of UX Design. Currently, I am furthering my studies in cognitive science and graphic design. The transition between these diverse fields has been fascinating, revealing unexpected similarities between my work in the theater and UX Design.
In the world of theater, crafting an immersive experience involves considering the audience's emotions and how to elicit them. It's about creating an environment that aligns with our goals.
Similarly, in software development, anticipating how users will interact with a product is crucial. We must ask: What emotions will they experience? How can we shape their user journey to meet specific emotional outcomes? The parallels between designing props for a theatrical production and designing software are striking.
My theater background has equipped me with a profound understanding of storytelling and the art of creating compelling narratives.
BUILDING STORIES: MERGING THEATER ARTISTRY WITH UX EXPERTICE
I always loved building things, creating things out of nothing, bring my imagination to life. I’ve spent years learning how to make things that people believe in.
Throughout my professional journey, colleagues and employers consistently commend my ability to swiftly acquire and apply new skills. I am entrusted to find innovative solutions to challenges, even when faced with unfamiliar information or technology initially. I thrive in dynamic environments, always eager to embrace fresh challenges and expand my knowledge.
My commitment to continuous learning is not just a professional trait but a personal passion. I actively seek opportunities to acquire new skills and derive immense joy from the process. Whether I'm knitting, drawing, painting, or daydreaming about a ceramics course, my diverse interests fuel my creativity and enrich my perspective.
In my leisure time, I occasionally return to painting stage sets, finding it to be a remarkably relaxing pursuit. Over the past year, I've cultivated various skills, from solving a Rubik's Cube to attempting yodeling. While my yodeling prowess may be a work in progress, I can confidently solve a Rubik's Cube in as little as 2 minutes. Learning is not just a task; it's a gratifying journey that I enthusiastically undertake both personally and professionally.

EXPLORING THE USABILITY AND HEALTH TECHNOLOGY: INSIGHTS INTO A SPECIALIZED MEDICAL USABILITY LAB
Embark on a journey into the intersection of cutting-edge usability and health technology. In collaboration with a valued client, we played a pivotal role in conceptualizing and bringing to life a dedicated medical usability laboratory. Our focus centered on meticulously planning and constructing the technological infrastructure, including cameras, microphones, and necessary softwares.
As someone deeply entrenched in the realm of health technology, my primary focus lies in designing and executing usability tests for medical devices. Engaging extensively with Medical Device Regulation (MDR) standards, I actively contribute to ensuring the seamless integration of medical technologies into healthcare workflows, all with the ultimate goal of enhancing patient care.
NAVIGATING CHALLENGES: UNRAVELING USABILITY TESTING METHODS IN PATIENT INFORMATION SYSTEMS
Delving into the complexities of usability testing within the realm of patient information systems, I recently addressed the nuances and challenges of employing usability testing methods. In my presentation, I explored the unique considerations that come with evaluating the usability of healthcare interfaces. From user engagement to data security, the talk delved into the intricacies of ensuring optimal user experiences in the critical domain of healthcare. This exploration aims to unravel the challenges and discover innovative solutions at the intersection of technology and patient care.
